Starting in 2014, Norris Square Neighborhood Project opened it’s weekly Community Farm Stand. Our staff work alongside youth and community members to grow, tend, and annually harvest over 850 lbs of fresh produce such as natural varieties of tomatoes, lettuces, pumpkins, squashes, culinary and medicinal herbs, peppers, root vegetables, garden plants and much more. All produce is sustainably grown free of chemicals and sold weekly at NSNP’s Farm Stand for $1 per pound or less.
The plants, herbs, fruits and vegetables sold at our Farm Stand are cultivated by community residents, children and youth in any one of our six gardens.
Our weekly Community Farm Stand is an opportunity for customers to support local food production, meet and talk to our youth farmers, gardening staff, consume healthy produce, and purchase handmade personal-care products made by our program youth.
Funds raised through the Farm Stand go back into our gardens and programs to obtain needed resources to maintain them and their production.
